Your download is starting

Workflow is freeware from Rush Mind / rushes ltd. It is not from the Mac App Store, and Apple has not listed us as an approved developer. That is normal for software you download from a website — your Mac will ask you to say yes. This page talks you through it. By downloading you confirm you have had a chance to read the Terms of Service. If you do not agree, stop here.

Click the button when you are ready — then follow the steps below.

  1. 1 Find the file

Open Downloads (Finder → Downloads, or click the download in Safari / Chrome).

You want a file named like Workflow_1.0.37_universal.app.tar.gz. Double-click it. macOS unpacks it into Workflow.app.

  2. 2 Put it in Applications

Workflow only works properly from the Applications folder. Do not leave it in Downloads or on the Desktop.

Drag Workflow.app into Applications. You can open Applications from Finder’s sidebar, or press ⌘⇧A.

If you skip this step, the app can fail to open, lose updates, or look like it vanished after a restart.

  3. 3 Tell Apple you trust this copy

The first time you open it, macOS will likely say it cannot be opened, or that it is from an unidentified developer / Apple cannot check it for malicious software. That warning is because we are not an Apple-approved App Store developer — not because your Mac is damaged.

    Do this once:

    1. Open the Applications folder.
    2. Hold the Control key and click Workflow.
    3. Choose Open.
    4. In the small window, click Open again. That is you accepting the software is not from an approved Apple developer.

If there is no Open button: go to System Settings → Privacy & Security. Scroll to the Security block. Next to the Workflow message, click Open Anyway, then confirm.

  4. 4 Privacy & Security permissions

macOS may also ask for privacy access the first time you use a feature. Allow what you need — you can change any of this later in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

    • Files and Folders (Documents, Downloads, Desktop, or a folder you pick) — opening projects, imports, and exports.
    • Microphone — only if you record voice notes on a bullet.
    • Speech Recognition — only if you turn voice notes into text.

If something looks greyed out later, that same Privacy & Security list is where you switch it on.

  5. 5 Open Workflow from Applications

Always launch it from Applications (or press ⌘ Space and type Workflow). The app will show the same Terms of Service — tap I agree — use at my own risk only if you accept them. Then open Help → Tour.

Your projects live in a separate data folder. Reinstalling or updating the app does not wipe them.
